Put Your Arabic Speaking Skills into Practice in Cairo, Egypt

At Arab Academy, we believe that students learn a foreign language best by putting it into practice. What better way for students to practice their Arabic language skills than an Egyptian cultural immersion experience?

Arab Academy’s Immersion Program takes students on a learning adventure in Cairo, Egypt, where they receive daily Arabic language instruction, including vocabulary, listening, reading comprehension, and speaking.

How Do I Sign Up for the Immersion Program?

Signing up is quick and easy. Simply go to the Arabic in Cairo page and fill out the application and select the program you want to attend.

What is the Duration of the Program?

We offer five different programs that are 4, 16, and 32 weeks long. Shorter programs are also accommodated at US $13 per hour.

How Much Does the Program Cost?

Students have 20 hours per week of language instruction in each program. For the 4-week sessions, the cost is US $990, the 16-week session is for US $3,366 and the 32-week session is for US $5,940. Lodging, food, airfare, and transportation are not included in these figures.

Arab Academy students who have signed up for a semi-annual subscription can get free hours on their immersion program trip upon renewal of their subscription.

What Does the Program Entail?

Each program includes four hours of instruction, five days a week (Sunday-Thursday). Each hour focuses on a language skill: vocabulary, listening, reading, comprehension, and speaking.

Where Will Instruction Take Place?

All Arabic lessons take place on the Arab Academy campus in Cairo, Egypt.

Where is Arab Academy Located?

Arab Academy is located in Garden City, Cairo, Egypt, which is the city’s cultural center. Our school is close to the American and British embassies and is within walking distance of the Egyptian Museum and numerous shops and restaurants.

What Happens When I get There?

Students will first fill out an application and meet with the program coordinator to discuss their learning needs and objectives. Students who have previous Arabic speaking backgrounds will sit for a placement test.

Students will also meet the administrative assistant and their instructors on the school site.

Will I Go on Any Guided Tours or is My Stay Self-Guided?

Students are encouraged to explore the city and nearby sites on their own outside of instruction time.

How Do I Get Information About the Area?

Arab Academy will provide each student with an orientation manual which will include a list of places to see, restaurants and transportation options.
