Testing Unit
The Arab Academy's testing unit offers two types of tests:1. Proficiency Tests: The Arab Academy has devised its own set of standards for the development of Arabic Language Proficiency tests. Those standards are based on the proficiency scale guidelines provided by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). 2. Placement Tests: The Arab Academy offers placement tests to help prospective students identify their levels and know which courses are most suitable to their needs. It allows the faculty and staff of the Arab Academy to place students in the course/courses that are most helpful to them. Frequently Asked Questions Should I take a proficiency test or a placement one? This depends on your objective. If you are taking a test in order to see which course you should register in at the Arab Academy, then you should take a placement test. If you are taking a test in order to see your general language proficiency, then you should take a proficiency test. What are the differences between placement tests and proficiency tests? The main difference between placement tests and proficiency ones is that the first tests your knowledge of certain elements that are specific to our courses whereas the latter is more general in nature. It tests your general language ability. Are there any other types of language tests?Yes, there are achievement tests. Those tests are given to you within your course of study at the Arab Academy. All tests are given online and they measure how much you have retained of the material presented to you in the courses.
