Passes: Username and password

Every user at Arab Academy, is sent a pass in the form of a username and a password. This pass is intended to be used by one person only. It may not be used by more than one person. It will remain active for the duration of the subscription.

Duration of Courses

1. Online Courses:
Our courses are self-paced. You can move at the pace that suits you. A course takes an average of 3 months to complete. People with other commitments often spend longer on the course. When you complete a course, please send us an email so that we move you to the next level.

2. Speaking Classes:
When you register for an online course, you can meet with a speaking teacher once or twice a week depending on your subscription plan. Each lesson is 50 minutes. You may choose the times that work best for you.

3. Onsite Classes:
You may enroll in Arab Academy’s Arabic language program on a full-time, part-time or flex-time basis as follows:
– Full-time:  4 hours per day X  5 days a week.
– Part-time:  2 hours per day X  2 days a week.
– Flex- time: we agree on the number of hours as per your needs.
** This means that you can find the right schedule for you whether you are a study abroad student or a resident in Cairo.

4. Arabic Language Proficiency Test (ALPT):
When you register for ALPT, you get to select the skills on which to be tested. Test 1 covers receptive skills: “Listening Comprehension”, “Reading” & “Structure”. Test 2 adds a productive skill, which is “Writing”; and Test 3 adds another productive skill; namely, “Speaking”. You are sent passwords that you may use within 4 weeks of receipt. After that date, you lose access to ALPT.

Payment & Refund Policy

Online Courses:
When you register for our online program, you are charged recurring fees. By ‘recurring,’ this means that your credit/debit card will automatically be charged as per the pricing and recurring cycle you choose (1 month, 3 months, 6 months). You may request a full refund within 3 days of registration (not within 3 days of being billed). With regards stopping the recurring billing, you need to request that we stop the recurring payment one week before “billing” is due, but not afterwards. Refunds for non-usage of the program are not possible.

Onsite Courses:
– Payment for the program is by month. You are expected to pay for one month in advance, and attend your classes.   If you do not attend for any reason, you should make up the classes you missed online.
– When a student is absent, our policy does not allow for make-up classes as we do block the space and the teachers for the student.
– You may request 100% refund 3 weeks before the start date of the program.  After that only 50% refund may be given up to the first day of classes.
– 100% refund is given when the course is canceled due to political disruptions.

Arabic Language Proficiency Test (ALPT):
1. Individuals:
Payment for the ALPT is in advance. Upon completion of the payment, passwords are sent to you by email. Scores are reported immediately with the exception of the Writing and Speaking sections, which take 7 business days to process. Refunds are issued within 7 days of payment provided you have not accessed the test or used any of its components. After 30 days access to ALPT ends; so make sure to take the test before your registration expires.

2. Institutions:
Payment for the ALPT is in advance. Upon completion of payment, we ask you to send us a list of the candidates. We then send you passwords for each one of them. You may request 75% refund within 2 weeks of payment. Refunds are issued within 14 days of payment provided none of the candidates have entered the test or used any of its components. After 60 days access to ALPT ends; so make sure that candidates on your list take the test before the expiry of your institution’s registration.
