Problems you may encounter and how to solve them
When I enter Arab Academy program, the computer shuts down. It does not shut down in other web sites.
This happens because your browser is not Internet Explorer version 7 or above. It is probably version 5 or 5.5. Those versions are unable to understand the advanced code (java script) that is on the Arab Academy web site, and this causes an illegal operation and the computer shuts down. If you are using Netscape, then it is probably not version 9.0 or above. All up to date browsers are downloaded for free from microsoft.com or netscape.com, .... When you update your browser to the latest version, this problem will disappear.
My computer does not display Arabic script. I bought it from the US and it does not have Arabic.
The Arab Academy program is used in the United States, France and other countries that do not have Arabic windows or Arabic support. All you need to do is enable your browser to display Arabic fonts. Information on this is available at:
arabic language support
If your keyboard, does not have Arabic on it, then it is recommended you replace it with one that does. If that was not available to you, then we will provide you with a mapping on the positions of Arabic letters on your keyboard, as soon as you enter the program.
I only see half of the screen so I am unable to play the games.
Low screen resolutions 800X600 lets you see half the screen only. Most games will not be displayed properly and it will be less fun for you to work on the activities that require dragging, as you cannot drag and scroll down at the same time. What you need to do is increase your display setting from the control panel to: 1024 X 768 or more. Do not worry, you will be able to type and use your computer, even with a 14 inch screen, on the higher resolution. As a matter of fact, low resolutions are getting to be obsolete, and very few people use them today.
