The ArabAcademy.com is the first and only professional site for learning Arabic language and culture. It launched in September 2000.

What are the courses offered?
The Arab Academy offers courses for all age groups and for all language levels. Courses are offered in the following areas of interest: Modern Standard Arabic, Quran, Hadith, Sirah & Colloquial Arabic. Courses in Business Arabic and more varieties of Colloquial Arabic are to be offered soon.

How do students register and pay?
Students register and pay online. As soon as payment is confirmed, a password is automatically sent to their E-mail addresses giving them access to their accounts on the site.

How are students monitored?
The Arab Academy is based on an intelligent educational system that is fully automated. The system measures the time spent on the activities, the scores on the tests, the level of participation in academic and extra curricular activities that are available on the site. At the end of the term, the system issues a detailed report as well as a transcript.

What is a typical lesson composed of?
A typical lesson is composed of interactive learning pages followed by intelligent exercises that are full of graphics, sound and text. Intelligent feedback is provided.

How are students evaluated?
The evaluation criteria are based on: attendance (logging on and measuring time), class participation (posing questions to teachers via the boards) and online tests.

Is there any interaction between learners and teachers?
Teachers and students interact via the boards on the site. Students send their teachers questions and the teachers respond on a public board so that other students can benefit as well. Students may also communicate with teachers on a one to one basis.

Do learners get a chance to interact together?
Learners get a chance to interact via the students board which is like an online club. Friendships develop between colleagues at the Academy and students help each other.

Are there any community services offered by the ArabAcademy to its students?
The Arab Academy provides its students with counseling facilities. Students who need any kind of emotional support visit the Counseling center. Students may volunteer to develop quizzes in areas of general interest.

How many students have studied during the first quarter of operations?
During the first three months of its operations, over 600 students have studied Arabic online through the Arab Academy. Before starting, students were tested online and were placed in courses that suit their levels.

Which geographical location are the Arab Academy's student from?
The Arab Academy's community of learners is an international one. Students who studied at the Arab Academy came from over 50 countries. Over 60% of the students were from the United States and Canada.

Does the Arab Academy have international partners?
The Arab Academy has a number of international partnerships. Some of them are:
- The Western Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. It is Pennsylvania's only comprehensive K-12 online state school.
- American Mercy Institute for Information and Research (AMIR). This is an online US based university that has accreditation from An-Noor University in Damascus, which is accredited by Al-Azhar. The Arab Academy is seeking more partners across the globe.

Is the site of the Arab Academy multi-lingual?
The ArabAcademy.com is currently running in English and French. The following languages are to be added in the near future: German, Malaysian, Indonesian and Turkish. The Academy aims at being accessible to the international community.

What is the student body composed of?
The student body is composed of students and professionals from different fields and different areas: diplomats, political scientists, doctors, businessmen, etc. Over 70% of the applicants were women and a large number of them were young mothers who are unable to leave their children at home in order to pursue their studies.

Students' feedback was very positive. They have indicated that the ArabAcademy was the best educational site on the Internet for learning a language. They have stated that it is better than all the sites that teach other languages such as English and Spanish.
