Duties:
Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (AFL) to Undergraduate and Graduate Students of the History Department. This entailed:
Developing the University of Abidjan AFL program which was introduced for the first time by me. The courses were designed to assist History students in developing their capabilities for eventual readings of Middle Eastern History texts, manuscripts, etc.
Evaluation and placement of students viz. their language level;
Making specific proposals and suggestions regarding improving the efficiency of AFL;
Designing AFL courses appropriate for the different proficiency levels;
1990-1994: English Language Instructor, Training Center, African Development Bank, Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire
Duties:
Teaching English to French speaking Bank employees
Utilizing a language laboratory and other audio visual aids in teaching;
Follow up, monitoring and evaluation of certain components of the English Language Teaching Program (ELTP);
Assisting in evaluation and placement of Bank staff according to their language level;
Making specific proposals and suggestions regarding improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ELTP;

- Presented a paperentitled "Arabic Language and the Challenges for the Future” at the International Conference on "Arabic Language - Future Directions" organized by the Islamic Organization for Education, Culture and Sciences (ISESCO) held in Rabat 2002;
- Gave a CD-ROM based presentation entitled “An Innovative Approach to Teaching Arabic Grammar” using “Let’s Learn Arabic” at the International Conference of Teachers of Arabic and English held at the American University in Cairo, March 1999;
- Multimedia presentation entitled "Teaching Arabic in the New Millennium" at the Symposium on “Bridging Past, Present & Future: Arabic as a Foreign Language in the New Millennium” organized by Wayne State University; Michigan, October 1999;
