There are two main components that must be completed in order to obtain complete credit for the course: |
| 1. The Online Arabic Language Course |
| 2. The Final Exam |
| 1. The Online Arabic Language Course |
| The following are the components of the online Arabic Language course: |
| - Attendance: |
| You are encouraged to study online as often as you can. You may choose the time and days that are convenient to you. You have to LOG OFF at the end of every session from the Arab Academy bar, in order to record the time that you spent on the session. |
| - Online Activities: |
| Every session comprises a large number of activities. You are expected to complete 100% of the total questions on those activities for every session. This helps you understand and learn the material and prepares you for the test. |
| - Writing: |
| You are expected to submit a composition at the end of every session. This forms an important part of the learning process at it allows you to produce Arabic. Our teachers correct your compositions and send them back to you. |
| - Online Tests: |
| At the end of every session, there is an online test that you should take. The test is very similar to the classroom activities. It is recommended that you take the tests before the deadlines. Every test is to be taken just once. Should you meet a technical problem during the test, you may take the test again. |
| - Arabic Board: |
| This board allows you to practice the Arabic you learnt in communicating with your colleagues. You are expected to send or respond to one message per session. |
| - Student and Teacher Boards: |
| You are expected to communicate with your teacher and colleagues via the boards. During the course, every student has to post or respond to at least two messages on any of the following boards: Questions to Teacher, Students' Board and Suggestions for Improvement. Further, responding to messages on technical support board count too! Messages posted to the Private Mailbox of the teacher do not count. |
| 2. The Final Exam |
| The final exam is composed of five sections: |
| I. Reading |
| The reading part of the test consists of six questions to test the vocabulary and comprehension. |
| II. Structure |
| The section on grammar and structure contains three multiple choice questions. You should select the right word to complete the sentence |
| III. Writing |
You are given three subjects where you have to select one subject and write a composition in not less than 50 words. |
| IV. Speaking |
The student will be shown a number of pictures to speak about and discuss with the teacher in 10 minutes. |
| V. Speaking |
There is only one question is this section. The question contains five sentences and each sentence is given four answers. |
| The Arab Academy adheres to
strict academic regulations Certificates of completion are issued upon the completion of courses. The certificate specifies the language level achieved & the courses studied. Please check with your institution to make sure that it would accept the transfer of credit hours. |
